Hello everyone. New to the group. I am an avid retro collector and I used to have a CD-i 220 when I was a kid and recently purchased one off of ebay. Like most of you, I see the uniqueness and beauty of this console.

I do however have issues with games playing on this unit. Games will load but skip and show the "The disc is dirty" message when the original game discs are spotless.

I have also tried to load up CD's to test the laser and it seems that the music CD's skip horribly.

I cleaned the lens with a Q-tip but the issue is still there. Has anyone has this issue as well?

Thanks in advance...

Hello and welcome Erasure!

Let's try to solve this issue together.

First, please let us know the model version of you model (i.e. 220/**).

If you have already cleaned the player lens, it's because you have already opened the case.

Please check the Timekeeper (NVRAM), if possible take a picture to verify if it is still the original. If you can't find out, there is a easy way to check it. Look at the options screen menu and verify if the clock and saved games are keeping save of always losing memory.

This timekeeper is one of the possibilities for this issue.

This is the 1st step.
