CD-i emulator v0.5.3b5
V.0.5.3b5 looks interesting in that several DVC games have play-ability on it. I can't find this version anywhere for a download and it's not on the CD-i Emulator website. Is this not available to the public? I've tried setting up MAME to run some CD-i stuff just for fun (I own a CD-i) but found it difficult and no many current How-To's available
The games are only playable with the specific DVC model used by the tester, almost nothing has changed in this regard compared to beta4. And, indeed, beta5 is not yet available to the public. Patience, grasshopper...
Keep in mind all the tests were made in short period of time. (about 2-10 min per game, testing functionality of the games only) and even if it looks ok, there might be bugs later in the game. For now we aiming on doing this short tests on all games and then try to do more lengthy tests on them. Thanks to @cdifan the latest version seem to have a lot of working titles. All props should be going to him. 😉
About the MAME, it is indeed a little bit hard to set it up. We planning on testing all the games we have access to in MAME too (specially now that there seem to be work done on it in the pest few days) but that's something we intend to do after we finished with the beta5 version tests.
Also i will try to post some info on how to set up MAME for CDi games later. Either a link to a guide or even a new guide will probably be published in our site later. (Depending on time 🙂 )
