Current todo list and what we have done
We do need to fix some smaller issues still, so I want to keep a list of what we have to do and what we have done already. Anything to add? Just let us know in this topic.
Todo:
- Recaptcha sometimes doesn't let you log in, we have to investigate why
- Some old code in some files lets security checks think visitors are intruders and bans their IP, if they revisit they are put on a longer ban list because they are seen as recidive.
- The encyclopedia pages are very slow (during the test phase this was solved, but returned recently)
- Messages between users (not on the forum, but on the website)
This makes the site want to send you notifications, so you'll probably get a warning by your browser. If you want to be notified if you have a PM then allow this, if you don't want this then choose block. - Fix some translations
The messages have been implemented. When you use the menu then go to: My Account > Messages.
Also the number of current messages can be seen on the right of the website, underneath "Guess the picture!".
Note: these are messages between users. They are not private messages, messages will be stored in plain text and can be seen by administrators, that's the way this system works. Announcements can be published too.
Administrators will only check the messages whenever there's something wrong, but they are not encrypted in any way and not private/personal. Please note this before using the system.
There are only 2 administrators on this site (omegalfa and me). Nobody else can see the messages.
A nice addition would be if you click the picture in ' Guess the Picture' that you can actually click on it to go to the description and a higher resolution picture. In this way I can check my answer 🙂

Can be done, but it has to be done manually, so every single image has to have a link to the correct page.
If there is a crew member with time to spare we'll certainly integrate it, but I think we'll stick to front covers then.
Picture is now bigger.
It is now easier to guess the picture 😉
