You control a small fighter armed with a laser and smart bombs. Fly across thescrolling surface of the planet and take out the aliens. Some of these aliens will abduct the humanoids and carry them to the top of the screen where humanoids and aliens will tranform into a horrible mutant that will come after your ship. Other aliens just bother you, there are mine layers, hunters, tanks and others. Clear one wave of enemies and you will progress to the next level. There are seven levels in total. If all the men are killed, the planet will be desintegrate, leaving you in outer space with nothing but raving mutants for company… After selecting “Guardian” in the main menu, you will get the “Guardian” menu. This will play some music and show you the hightscores every once in a while. Use the “Exit” button to return to the Golden Oldies 1 main menu, use “Start” button to start the game. You get three lives in the begginning, and when you lost your last life, the game will be over, and the “game over” screen will be displayed. After pressing na action button, you will be able to enter your name if you get a highscore. Move the box around with the controller and press na action button to select a letter. Make sure you don’t shot the humanoids, it’s your task to defend them. Also, don’t spend too long on a level or you will get deadly hunters after you. Description | Different from other CD-i softwares so far, it has a story line from the beginning through the end, where you can find excitements happening. In the Data Base Mode, there are some quiz about Golgo 13. When you clear all the standard quiz, you can protect yourself from Golgo 13’s attack. In the Story Mode, there are 13 stories picked out of the original story, with sound and effects added. There are multi stories / multi endings for you to experience the case “if chose the other way, I might have run away from Golgo 13.” CD-i Golgo 13 has pictures from its original work with BGM and narration added on it. The most different point from the comics is that, to protect yourself, you have to act as a person concerned in the enemy sometimes. And when you don’t see why you missed, go back to beginning and try other selections. You may not feel so good when you are killed without knowing the reason why. You have to realise that you are facing World #1 sniper. It is almost impossible to run away from him. But on the conditions of the offer client shows to Golgo 13, you might be able to get away from him for all your life. Depending on the story you select, you may have to solve difficult problems. As you enjoy the original work, I hope you appreciate this software. |
Remarks | The outer paper cover of the jeweled case says “Demo”, but nothing on the covers, nor disc informs about that. |
