Knowlogy K2000-MSS CD-i player

Blazers, once again, contributed on our Forum with this Knowlogy K2000-MSS CD-i player.

Here is his cote:

Turns out that we can add a whole new part of the World to the list of places where CDi got some action back in the day:

From Ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-CD-I-Knowlogy-CD-INTERACTIVE-PROCESSOR-MODEL-K2000-MSS-1997-/203133203478?pageci=82dfd023-77bb-48ea-8d9b-0d4d633b541b

It arrived intact, and includes the remote. There’s an odd power prong for which I’ll need an adapter before testing it.

Now, I made sure to do some research on this, but all I found was the following:

http://www.aast.edu/en/centers/aast_centers/contenttemp.php?page_id=41000004

Here’s the relevant info:

Developing 103 educational courses on CD-ROM and CD-I discs revised and authorized by the Ministry of Education of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (grades 1 to 12) in cooperation with Knowlogy International.”

So for Arabian CDi software, there could be over 100 titles, none of which have anything online about them.

Does anyone here know anything further on these Knowlogy players and titles?

And in case anyone is interested, yes, I am willing to sell or trade the player for CDis that I don’t yet own.

Some pictures of the CD-i player:

We already knew CD-i was in some way on the Saudi Arabia market. We will make our researches and let you know more news about it.

Leonardo Da Vinci 500 years death celebrating

The world is celebrating 500 years after the death of a Great Master.
Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was a painter, architect, inventor, and student of all things scientific.
Born in Italy (Vinci) and died in France (Clos-Lucé). He past his all life in investing everything around him and invents many things that only today we able to reproduce.
His most famous work is La Gioconda, best known as Mona Lisa.

Why am I talking about him? What Leonardo Da Vinci has to see with CD-i?
EVERYTHING of course!
As an inventor, just like Philips, he was always ahead of its time, just like CD-i was.

Part of his work was also involved into the human anatomy, and this is why we want to celebrate the 500 years of his death with The Human Body, a Multimedia CD-i title based on Leonardo Da Vinci work, it will show you everything you need to know about the most complex and perfect mechanism in the universe.

Special thanks to Marco Parisio Java for the title covers.

Litil Divil™ 2

The unreleased titles is a very interesting subject. While we was “out” of the scene and preparing our return, we made a lot of research. From this research came Gremlin Interactive (bought by Infogrames). This is a long way after an interview we’ll publish this year. This leads us to an unreleased CD-i title, Litil Divil™ 2.

You can find Phil Plunkett’s artwork here.

New Title Addition – Swiss Riviera

Swiss Riviera or “La Riviera Vaudoise” in Swiss CD-i title for tourists.
This title in the first one form an unknown number guides collection.
We still can’t define it is a free disc from a Magazine, or if it was a gift from the Swiss National Tourist Office.
You already know the other Swiss title Swiss Click, but both titles haven’t anything to see between them.
The person responsible for the title, Pierre Georges Penel, died in 2003 aged 56. We are still looking a way to contact other people who worked in this title to define if more CD-i titles are included in this guide collection.

About this specific disc, as told before, this is a pure touristic title about a specific Swiss region. The other titles may talk about other Swiss regions (if they do exist).
You can choose between French, English, German and Italian right at the start before the main menu.

There are a lot of videos, even if no Digital Video Cartridge is needed, but they are all windowed and pretty small.
All you need to know about the Swiss Riviera is right here! Restaurants, Hotels, what to visit, etc…
Tons of pictures, videos and audio will help you to prepare your next travel to this Swiss area.

Thanks to digger2 (our website member) who sent the original copy to us, we will soon make an exclusive video of this title.
