New Addition – Marilyn Monroe

Philips Consumer Electronics presents a collection of many Photo-CD, and Marilyn Monroe is one of them.
Those titles, with a catalogue number as the ones used on the CD-i titles are Deutsche exclusive ones.
We have 3 of them on our database:
Marilyn Monroe, House of Windsors, ELLE Trends 92/93.

You can verify in the booklet the promotion Philips is doing to the Photo-CD players, explaining all details and options.

This Marilyn Monroe title include 95 pictures. When you used to make a Photo-CD on a Kodak store (if you ever made one), all the pictures you wished to include on the disc was shown on the back of the cover.
In this professional disc, those pictures are shown inside the booklet.

Schöner Fernsehen – Meeresbrandung created in 1995 by WestCom is a German exclusive title.
With this title, your television will turns into an ocean!
Underwater videos, waves, fishes, all in Full Motion Video.

New Addition – AIDS Awareness


Created in 1994 by “Multimedia Software Inc.” an American from Ohio, this title can be confused with a game as it is a quiz with 100 questions. But no, AIDS Awareness is a Multimedia one as is purpose is to inform about the danger and the ways to protect against AIDS.
When answering a question, you will always know the right answer, and you will also understand the reason why of the answer.

New Addition – Antonio Vega – Océano de Sol

Antonio Vega – Océano de Sol is the very first Spanish album using Digital Video on CD-i.
Thanks to Blazers we can now have a look at the covers. This video music title was free back in 1994 as it was sponsored by Passport Scotch.
It is also the first time we can see the Digital Video Cartridge logo stamped on the disc, a very cool detail.
This disc is a CD-i Ready title, so it also can be playable on any audio CD player.

New Addition – Cathédrales Gothiques d’Europe

Here is another extremely rare French title, Cathédrales Gothiques d’Europe.
Our member AretiusRGC shared it with us on Philips/Magnavox CD-i Collectors Club Facebbok group. He found it on a magazine dedicated to sell CD-i titles.

We received pictures of this title and we have also added the title on the database of The World of CD-i.

In this title, you will be able to discover pictures, information and shorts videos about 31 European cathedrals from many cities:

Once again, thanks to Marco Parisio from Italy, we present another exclusive Italian title!
Enciclopedia Elettronica Multimediale Grolier edizione 1995, all 21 volumes of the Italian encyclopaedia Grolier in the interactive edition.
A fast access to the most updated news on science and technology, arts, history, geography, contemporary life, sport, with the possibility of navigating between the various topics, on this 1995 version.
The back cover indicates a new edition every year, and in fact, there is the 1994, 1995 and 1996 versions available for CD-i:

Marco Parisio, our Italian infiltrated man is on fire with the tons of exclusive titles he present to us.
This time here is Gli Animali e i Loro Ambienti, another italian exclusive title from 1993 by Giunti Multimedia.

Giunti Multimedia is the same company behind QuizMania, Super Test, The Human Body and European Party.

In this title you will learn all you need about more the 350 animals in there natural habitat. No DVC needed and only in Italian.

This Multimedia title made by the Spanish CD-i Lab company in 1996 talks about the also Spanish artist, Francisco de Goya.
Goya Grabador – Luces y Sombras can be played in Spanish, English and French, you will discover his complete engravings collection, divided in 5 sections:
– Velazqueños style
– Whims
– Disasters
– Bullfighting
– Nonsense
All of them are commented in the different languages.
